My girlfriend’s best friend rolled her S10 “at least” 3 times just outside of town. All I know is she’s in the hospital and the Xray found no broken bones. Nobody else was involved, and we don’t know what caused the crash.

What is the speed limit on that road?

Looks like 55mph

So this was the third time? You think she would drive more careful after the first two.
And those S10s are a lot stronger than I thought.

HAHAHAHHAHAHA, Ok, that was pretty damn funny.

At least.

All the more reason I want to sell my S10. These things are horrible in crashes

I dunno, if you rolled it 3 times at (probably) 55+ mph, ended up shiny side down, and got no broken bones I’d say it did its job.

Rolled at least three times and no broken bones. What else are you looking for or expecting?

That happen to me to. Was doing 70kph, on a 50kph downhill s-bend on a wet road. The back end got out, I over corrected. Went into the ditch sideways, rolled, hit the tree well in the air upside down (look at 3rd picture), and landed on its roof. Rolled once. I had some burns on my fore arms from the air bag, that was the only injury.

I knew a guy in high school who had narcolepsy. He flipped his 80's F-150 over twice... in the long dimension. the frame kinked about 135 degrees behind the cab. He was fine, mostly because he was asleep during the crash.

I’m guessing a cell phone was involved.

That held up insanely well.

That was luck. Look at the passenger side. Notice how the door handle is strangely close to the ground? Yeah.

Insurance stopped counting after $14,000. The chassis had a severe twist, front wheels where out of alignment. busted engine mounts, the driver side door was jammed shit (had to kick out the passenger side window).

Not sure, but I doubt it. She’s just not a very great driver. Holds the wheel at 11 and 1, which leads to jerky overcorrections. I keep saying that 9 and 3 is the best place... oh well.

My guess is a slight drift off the road followed by an over correction.
Glad she's all right.

I think some of that is the ditch/indent it’s sitting in, but yeah, not all of it. That might look much worse when it’s flipped back over.

Either way, if a passenger was in the truck, they’d be dead.

Amazing that she’s ok.
Well, she probably knows how it happened, but she would be wise to just not say anything. Hard to roll your pickup 3 times...

Owned a Sonoma for years and years, had no idea it was such crap.

Yeah, but the cab looks pretty well intact.

Looks like the passenger wouldn’t have gotten out so easily. The passenger compartment looks caved in.

Passenger compartment looks crushed and caved in

Yeah, I thought that was how the truck was sitting in that indent. But it looks like you might be right on second glance

Damn, I hope everyone's okay, it looks pretty lucky that the roof seemed to hold up on the driver side.

your gas cap door is open...
Good to hear she didn’t break anything - given the sides are nearly clean it must have been rolling pretty good... Just take a second to drop a wheel off onto the gravel and get hooked around.

Honestly the best place is wherever the spokes are. Less fatigue, most reasonable fulcrums. I believe AAA and several other “safety authorities” say 9 and 3 is best. It keeps good control and keeps your arms out of the way of the airbag if it goes off.
